Healers Join Together to Promote Spiritual Healing
Turtle Shire Mountain Ranch is an organization devoted to the study of shamanism.
Located miles outside of Magdalena New Mexico USA, this ranch has dedicated its lands to those in healing need.
This is a place where you can:
- Find out more about your inner healer and learn more about your medicine
- Develop tools to strongly connect you to your spirit guides
- Meet healers from all over who come together with other healers and join their medicine and their knowledge
- Meet healers who support each other, life, and Mother Earth during these times of change through ceremonies.
How do we do this?
Through the time tradition of Sacred Fire Ceremonies
At dawn or dusk the match is struck, as the lodge pipe opens the doors to the six directions praying for healing and teaching spirits to come help those in need and those that will come to the flames.
If all is in order, if the shields of the medicine wheel are secure, the Great Spirit and Mother Earth will bless us with the spirit of a grandmother or grandfather that enters into the fire, than at that moment the fire will become a Sacred Fire.
This Grandfather will remain in the fire until the closing of the ceremonies. This spirit with many others will aid all those that come to sit by the flames.

For four days and nights the lodge fire flames.
Tobacco Ceremonies
Twice a day the lodge peace pipe is lit. The doors to the six directions are opened as the healing and helping spirits are allowed in.
Then the lodge pipe is shared with all those willing, held or smoked, as the grandmother in the pipe and the grandfather in the fire dictate the healings that continue around the circle.
Spirit names are given to those who do not know their names by which the spirits know them. There is medicine in your spirit name. Your medicine, who you are, have been and will be. The medicine of your soul that you have, that is you, that you can learn to share with others.
The pipe also sometimes awards clans, the totem medicine of your brothers and sisters in the spirit world.
Teachings of the four shields and the four directions are passed, and some learn in which direction of the wheel they were born. This helps them understand their medicine even further.
The pipe will sometimes take things from us that are no longer ours to carry, or give things to us as need demands.
When the circle is complete, when all the helping and healing spirits that have come are finished, the lodge pipe is closed and it is on to the next ceremony.
TopFeast Meals
Performed twice a day, feast meals are an offering to the spirits who have come to help us through the Sacred Fire and other ceremonies, followed by a fellowship meal for all people who wish to join. The feast meals are often prepared ahead of time then warmed over a cooking fire that is different than the Sacred Fire. The meals are prayed over constantly as they are prepared and blessed, honoring the spirit of the fish, foul, plant or animal to give us sustenance, health, strength and blessings on all levels, spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally.
TopWater Ceremonies
Twice a day the woman carry the water and perform the water ceremonies. Those woman in their moon join others in the moon lodge rather than the main lodge for sacred teachings of the women's medicine.
TopTeaching Circles
Teaching circles are held around the fire where we share our medicine teachings with one another as the feather is past. We speak of things like our clan and what we learned from working with our spirit guides or our name and how we have learned to use our medicine over the years. Whatever spirit has guided us to say.
TopFree time
In our free time we can approach one another, perhaps pass tobacco, to learn more about the medicine of our clans or request a private healing from one another.
Smaller Gatherings Within the Conference, Wheels Within the Wheels
- There are drumming and dancing circles that take place by those who would wish to participate or observe. Bring your drums, rattles and other noise makers. The purpose of this circle is to help us to get in touch with the heat beat of mother Earth and attune ourselves to her frequency for strength and health. Ecstatic dance develops often during these drumming sessions to elevate our awareness to higher spiritual planes.
- Medicine Wheel Teaching and Intuition Circles encompasses the sharing of tools that can connect us stronger to the spirit world, our totem guides and teach us how to use the signs and symptoms in our body and dreams to recognize intuition.
- Evening and siesta educational films will be available for viewing, with the permission of the origins of the film, in the home of the lodge guardian educating about the ancient teachings related to 2012, the shift of the ages, and emotional healing.
Fire Dream Circle
If you choose to participate, during Sacred Fire Ceremonies on nights that there is not a Purification Lodge, there will be gatherings around the Sacred Fire for fire dream visions. After stating intent as an individual and a group, the group will journey into the fire by way of silent meditation and/or group guided meditation to receive visions.
Soul Retrievals
Soul Retrievals are often done through Sacred Fire journey work, guided by a medicine person who can assist you.
TopVision Quest
If you choose to before, after, or during Sacred Fire Ceremonies, you may set out on a vision quest. This is where you isolate yourself from the lodge group, somewhere on the lands of the ceremonial grounds. Please let the lodge keepers know of your request. Water and/or food will be brought to you twice a day.
TopPurification Lodge
The purification lodge will run the first and the fourth nights of the lodge but if tobacco is passed and there is an available person to pour, it could run other evenings as well. The fire keeper will bring in the rocks, the door will open and close four times, as each of the four directions are honored. You can participate outside the lodge as well. Inside we will share our experiences from our life walk or from the spiritual journey done in honor of that round. Great healing work!
